In the build-up to the much-anticipated 2025 President’s Cup showdown between Accra Hearts of Oak and their eternal rivals, Asante Kotoko, organisers of the prestigious fixture, GHALCA (Ghana League Clubs Association), paid a courtesy visit to the Commercial Centre of Hearts of Oak to present the official matchday jersey to the club.
The specially crafted jersey, proudly designed in Hearts’ iconic red, yellow, and blue, was unveiled and handed over by Mr. John Ansah, Chairman of the President’s Cup Planning Committee. Receiving the jersey on behalf of the club was the Managing Director of Hearts of Oak, Dr. Delali Anku-Adiamah.
Designed and printed by Ghanaian fashion designer Kwab Asamoah of Kustomlooks Clothing, the new kit has already generated excitement among fans and players alike. The unique design pays homage to the club’s rich history while embracing a bold and modern aesthetic.
Speaking at the presentation, Dr. Adiamah expressed his appreciation to GHALCA and the design team for the thoughtful gesture:
“We thank the organisers, GHALCA, and Mr. Asamoah for this beautiful jersey. I call on all Phobians, far and near, to turn up on July 6th and be our 12th player. Let’s come together to support Hearts and help uplift Ghana football. The jersey is very traditional and symbolic of who we are as a club.”
This year’s edition of the President’s Cup comes with a powerful and refreshing theme centered on environmental sustainability. In a landmark collaboration with GreenFutbol and other partners, GHALCA has arranged for both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to be transported to the match venue — Accra Sports Stadium — via electric buses. The symbolic move is aimed at promoting clean energy and climate awareness in the world of sports.
The 2025 President’s Cup, scheduled for Sunday, July 6, continues to honour the sitting President of Ghana while fostering unity, rivalry, and national pride through football. With both teams eager to stake their claim in this storied fixture, and the added focus on sustainability, this year’s clash promises to be one of the most memorable in recent history.
As the countdown to kickoff begins, fans from across the country are gearing up for another thrilling chapter in the Hearts-Kotoko rivalry — a celebration not only of football, but of progress, tradition, and shared national values.
