The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has backed Ghanaian champions Medeama SC with financial support.
On Wednesday, August 02 2023 the reigning Ghana Premier League champions visited the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to present their 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League trophy to him.
They also took the advantage to solicite for financial support from his office as they embark on their Africa campaign.
The Mauves and Yellow outfit will represent the West African Country in the 2023-24 CAF Champions League competition, having won the domestic title. Their trip demands a lot investment which includes finance to competition well.
President Akufo Addo gave the Tarkwa-based club an amount of Ghc 1 million for their Africa campaign.
Medeama SC received GHS 30,000 as prize money for winning the league which is sponsored by betting company BetPawa.
The Mauves and Yellow club is paired with Nigerian outfit Remo Stars Sports Club in the preliminary stage and will have the advantage to host them in the first leg at Cape Coast Stadium before travelling to Remoland for the reverse fixture.
First leg scheduled for August 18-20.
