Ablakwa made this significant announcement after filing his nomination to contest in the upcoming elections, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
According to Ablakwa, the primary objective of this intervention is to ensure the total resettlement and compensation of all victims of the dam spillage, numbering over 12,000.

He emphasized that his top priority for the next term will be to dedicate all efforts towards the comprehensive resettlement and compensation of those affected. Ablakwa expressed deep concern that 1,360 constituents remain in tents, describing this situation as unacceptable, inhumane, and a stark reminder of the urgent need for action.

To address this pressing issue, Ablakwa has set aside GH¢100,000 as emergency rent support, prioritizing women, particularly nursing mothers, who are most vulnerable in this situation.
This fund aims to provide temporary relief to those still in tents, while efforts are made to secure permanent resettlement and compensation.

Ablakwa’s commitment to supporting his constituents reflects his dedication to addressing the pressing needs of those affected by the Akosombo dam spillage.
He acknowledged the immense challenges faced by the victims and reassured them that he will leave no stone unturned in ensuring their full recovery and rehabilitation.

By announcing this emergency rent fund, Ablakwa has demonstrated his leadership and willingness to take concrete steps towards mitigating the suffering of his constituents.
His actions serve as a beacon of hope for those affected and a testament to his unwavering commitment to their welfare.
