Mark Bismark Owusu Mensah has been disqualified to contest for the upcoming Western Regional Football Association Chairmanship position.
Below is how the decision was communicated to Mr Bismark Owusu Mensah;
Following the vetting process held on Tuesday 22″ August 2023 and after careful consideration, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Elections Committee (the “Committee”) regrets to inform you that your application to contest for the position of Chairman of the Western Regional Football Association (RFA) was unsuccessful.
This was as a result of the adverse findings against you namely:
1. Breach of Article 13(2)() of the Ghana Football Association Statutes,
2019; and
2. Failure to provide the required number of Ghana Football Association
Members to support your candidature.
REASONS FOR DECISION
1. The names of the authorised officers proposing or supporting a
Candidate must be per Article 13(2)() of ihe GFA Statutes, 2019.
Therefore, the persons authorised to propose or support a Candidate must be persons whose names are captured in “a list of ofticials, specifying those who are authorised signatories wilth the right to
enter into legally binding agreements with third partics.
Any signatories shall be authorised
changes of ofticials and conmunicated in writing to the General Secretary within thirty (30) days of the said change
2. In addition, the authorised officers of the RFA Members (Clubs) stated on your nomination form were to “atach a statutory
declaration indicating that the above KFA members are supporting only one candidate for the position of Chairperson” fas stated on the nomination form).
According to the Election committee, RFA members who supported his candidacy were not qualified to do so.
Mr James Kainyah(Jamkay) endorsed as the CEO of Sekondi Eleven Wise Fc, and Mr Anthony Effah also endorsed as the deputy CEO of Kalos Fillos Fc.
Prior to Bismark disqualification, Mr Simon Eheomah will be unopposed in the upcoming WRFA Elections.
Mark Bismark Owusu has three(3) days to appeal this decision, and sstvgh.com can confirm that he will appeal.
