Budget 2024: We have created over 2.3 million jobs in the private and public sectors – Ken Ofori-Atta

In a landmark announcement, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta revealed that Ghana’s Budget 2024 has paved the way for a surge in employment opportunities, with over 2.3 million jobs created across both the private and public sectors.

The strategic allocation of resources has resulted in approximately 900,000 jobs in the dynamic private sector and a substantial 1.4 million positions in the public sector.

Ofori-Atta, in his address, emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering economic growth by addressing unemployment head-on.

The creation of over 2.3 million jobs signifies a concerted effort to not only reduce unemployment rates but also to provide diverse opportunities for Ghanaians in both formal and informal sectors.

The private sector, a crucial driver of economic development, has seen a significant boost with the generation of approximately 900,000 jobs.

This surge in private sector employment is anticipated to stimulate entrepreneurship, innovation, and overall economic dynamism.

Simultaneously, the public sector has expanded its workforce by 1.4 million positions. This strategic move is expected to not only strengthen government institutions but also address societal needs, ensuring efficient service delivery to citizens across various sectors.

As the nation grapples with the aftermath of global challenges, the government’s commitment to job creation stands as a beacon of hope for citizens seeking employment opportunities.

The diverse range of jobs generated underscores the inclusivity of the initiative, catering to individuals with varying skill sets and qualifications.

Ghanaians now look towards the future with renewed optimism, as the tangible impact of Budget 2024 unfolds in the form of increased employment opportunities.

The story of Ghana’s economic progress continues, marked by a commitment to empowering its workforce and fostering a climate of prosperity for all.
