“Burna Boy’s “Last Last” is now eligible for Platinum Certification after selling over 1 million units in the US.

“Burna Boy’s “Last Last” is now eligible for Platinum Certification after selling over 1 million units in the US.

Burna Boy has chalked another feat in his career after his track “last last”, off his 6th studio album, “Love, Damini”, sold over 1 million units in the US, making it eligible for Platinum Certification by RIAA.

This makes it his second single to hit the Platinum Certification mark after “Ye” also sold over 1 million units in the U.S.

“YE” platinum certification

In addition to “Last Last” being on Billboard’s Afrobeat chart, Burna Boy also landed a record 23 songs on the charts simultaneously. He also became the first Nigerian artist to have three projects on the Billboard 200 with  Love, Damini joining his Grammy-winning album Twice As Tall and Grammy-nominated effort African Giant.

Love, Damini is the sixth studio album by Nigerian singer Burna Boy. It was released on 8 July 2022 through Atlantic Records. The album features guest appearances from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, J Hus, Vict0ny, Popcaan, Blxst, Kehlani, Ed Sheeran, J Balvin, and Khalid. It was supported by two singles, “Kilometre” and “Last Last”. The album is named after Burna Boy’s legal first name and serves as the follow-up to his previous album, Twice as Tall

Platinum: 1,000,000 units

Multi-Platinum: 2,000,000 units (increments of 1,000,000 thereafter)

Diamond: 10,000,000 units

The units are defined as:

A permanent digital download counts as 1 unit

150 on-demand audio and/or video streams count as 1 unit

Album certification

•Gold: 500,000 units.

•Platinum: 1,000,000 units

•Multi-Platinum: 2,000,000 units (increments of 1,000,000 thereafter).

•Diamond: 10,000,000 units

For certification purposes, each unit may be one of:

1.sale of a digital album or physical album
2.10 track downloads from the album
3.1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams from the album
