In her autobiography, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,” Yvonne Nelson has revealed yet another detail on her previous romance with Nigerian Afropop musician Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk.
She claimed that Iyanya’s affair with Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh caused their relationship to collapse.
With breakfast in bed and other amenities, Yvonne described her relationship with the artist as a wonderful one. She also said that when the singer inked her initials, YN, on his wrist, she knew that their love was unbreakable.
We had a good connection. All the luxuries of a fantasy romance, including breakfast in bed. I felt confident that I could spend my entire life with him. On his wrist, he had my initials, YN, inked.
I thought it was major news when he inked my initials, YN, on his wrist. He wouldn’t do that if he wasn’t serious about me. He made reference of how he lusted after me in his popular song, “Ur Waist.”
However, things started to go south between them when Yvonne Nelson began getting calls from an enigmatic figure each time she left Iyanya’s house, warning her that another actress would drop by and occasionally spend the night.
Consequently, you may imagine my surprise when I received a call from someone in Nigeria from his house after returning to Ghana from one of my travels.
The caller claimed that whenever I left Iyanya’s house, another actress would drop by and occasionally spend the night. The individual believed I should be aware of their relationship since they felt strongly that it was going somewhere. One of the female superstars Iyanya mentioned in his song “Ur Waist” was Tonto Dikeh from Nigeria, who played that actress.
“I was devastated when I realized that the information I had received was real.
I vented and ranted on Twitter. In response, Tonto Dike tweeted, “People changed, and so did feelings. I should move on.”
Iyanya and several of his female crew members were involved in additional occurrences that were revealed in Yvonne’s memoir, supporting her theory that what happened between him and Tonto Dikeh was not an isolated incidence.
“I subsequently learned other tales about what Iyanya did to several of his female crew members. I was persuaded that what transpired between him and Tonto Dike wasn’t a one-off affair. His manner of life was a pattern. I was aware that even if Tonto Dikeh hadn’t entered the scene, I would eventually have left.
The much-discussed relationship between Kukere master Iyanya and Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson, which started in July 2012 and was evident at various events, has come to an end in 2015.
