The minister for trade and industry, Mr K. T Hammond has justified why he ordered cement manufacturing association of Ghana out of his meeting with the chamber of construction industry last week.
He said, a meeting was arranged at his ministry between himself and cement manufacturers associate of Ghana so as to listen to each other and find means to reduce the prices of cement for Ghanaians.
The minister further said, as he was ready waiting for the cement manufacturers in the conference room at his ministry, the manufacturers had decided not to meet the minister with the reason that, they don’t need the presence of media.
Meanwhile, the ministry has already arranged for medi to have opening remarks of the meeting to let Ghanaians appreciate the happening in the cement industry.
Mr K T Hammond concluded that, upon all his efforts to get the meeting carried, cement manufacturers association failed to have the meeting with him.
Therefore, there was no need for same people who failed to meet him would appear in a another meeting scheduled for only chamber of construction industry.
