The prestigious Kuntu Blankson Sports Foundation Awards Ceremony is set to take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Naakoff Chinese Conference Hall in Tanokrom, starting at 3 PM.
This year’s event promises to be a grand celebration, honoring individuals who have made remarkable contributions to sports across the country.
The awards ceremony will attract a host of dignitaries and sports personalities, with notable attendees including the traditional ruler of Apremdo, who has long been a close friend of Professor George Kuntu Blankson.
Special guest Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Minister of Tourism and Member of Parliament for Sekondi, will be recognized for his role in supporting sports development, particularly his financial contributions to Sekondi Eleven Wise’s Division One qualification and the refurbishment of the Gyandu Park.
Other distinguished guests include Hon. Isaac Boamah, NPP parliamentary candidate for the Effia constituency, who will be honored for his support of clubs in the Division Two Super Middle League, and Nana Boateng, owner of Nsuapon Fidelity FC, who will travel to Takoradi with his entourage from Wassa Akropong.
Former footballers from the region, such as Stephen Baidoo, George Owu, Bismarck Kobi-Mensah, and others, are expected to attend the event. In addition, key figures from FC Samartex, including Coach Nurudeen Amadu, Baba Musa Hamadu, and Mr. Edmund Ackah, will grace the occasion.
Honorees include John Antwi, Ebenezer Assifuah, and representatives from Sekondi Eleven Wise, among others. The event will serve as an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the exceptional efforts of these individuals in advancing football in Ghana.
