NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY OPENS NOMINATIONS FOR PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong has issued a statement on the nominations for the presidential primary election;

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) approved the following schedule for hosting the party’s presidential primaries during its meetings of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council convened on Monday, April 3, 2023:

Opening of Nominations: May 26, 2023, Friday

Nominations must be submitted by Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Elections for the Special Electoral College, if any, will take place on August 26, 2023.

National Congress: November 4, 2023, on a Saturday.

The Party thus announces the beginning of nominations for the presidential primary election in accordance with the deadlines established by the National Council.

From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (Monday through Friday), the Office of the General Secretary at the Party Headquarters, Asylum Down, will sell nomination forms.

Therefore, an Aspiring Presidential Candidate must pay a non-refundable nomination fee of Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 50, 000.00) by a bankers draft given to the NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS, ACCRA, as payee in order to get the Nomination Forms.

The Party calls on all interested parties to work together to make sure that the presidential primary election is free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.
