Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced a 24-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali in September.

The squad features familiar names such as Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Antoine Semenyo, and Inaki Williams.

One of the major highlights of the call-up is Union Berlin defender Derrick Arthur Köhn, who earns his first invitation to the national team. The 26-year-old left-back secured a move from Galatasaray to Union Berlin this summer after an impressive loan spell at Werder Bremen, where he made 27 Bundesliga appearances and scored two goals last season.

Another notable inclusion is Kamal Deen Sulemana, who recently completed a switch from Southampton to Italian Serie A side Atalanta. The winger has hit the ground running in Italy, impressing Addo enough to merit a spot in the squad.

Midfielder Elisha Owusu also makes a return following a full recovery from a long-term injury, while FC Nordsjaelland youngster Caleb Yirenkyi receives his debut call-up after impressing at the Unity Cup in London and showing consistent form in Denmark.

Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey returns to the setup, while Christopher Bonsu Baah and Ireland-based goalkeeper Joseph Anang have also been handed opportunities to feature in the double-header.

Ghana currently leads Group I in the African qualifiers with 15 points from six games, having secured five victories and one defeat.

The Black Stars will play Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.

The two fixtures will be crucial as Ghana continues its push to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
