Sarkodie expressed interest in doing the “My Own” remix on the same beat and I didn’t allow – Samini

Samini, a Ghanaian reggae/dancehall legend, in series of tweets on January 23, 2023, vent his spleen on how Sarkodie has been ignoring his messages.

Samini felt he did a free verse under 24 hours for Sarkodie’s “Love Rocks” tune and if he needs a verse from Sarkodie, it shouldn’t be a hard thing to get.

He went on to show how embittered he was by saying he won’t do verse for Sarkodie again should he ask him.

Many couldn’t fathom how could this be happening between two industry greats who much of the youth look up to.

Speaking to Andy Dosty, Samini dropped a hint about how Sarkodie wanted to be on his “My Own” remix with the same beat made by Dj Frass but he(Samini) declined and he thinks Sarkodie didn’t like that.

“Sarkodie expressed interest in doing the “My Own” remix – the original beat produced by DJ Frass – I thought it would distort the original so I wanted to do it on a different beat. It seems that didn’t go down well with Sarkodie”.

However, the remix was done but it was produced by “Loud City Music”.

“My own ” is reggae tune by Samini which won him 2018 VGMA reggae/dancehall song of the year.
