Tragedy has struck the Ghana Police Service as three personnel are feared dead following a devastating accident at Kyekyewere, a suburb of Ayensuano in the Eastern region.
The victims were part of a team deployed to the Kwahu enclave for duties during the four-day National Paragliding Festival.
The accident, which occurred as the police convoy made its way to the festival venue, saw a Police Forward Patrol Unit (FPU) vehicle veer off the highway, plunging into a nearby bush and overturning in the process. The impact of the crash was severe, with the vehicle’s doors ripped off and its windscreen cracked.
The news of the accident has sent shockwaves through the police force and the nation as a whole, as colleagues, friends, and family members anxiously await updates on the condition of those involved.
While the identities of the victims have not been officially released, the loss of three lives and the injuries sustained by others serve as a sobering reminder of the dangers faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty.

The incident highlights the need for enhanced training, equipment, and support for officers tasked with ensuring public safety during large-scale gatherings and festivities.
Amidst the grief and sorrow, the Ghana Police Service mourns the loss of its brave personnel and stands in solidarity with the families of the victims.
