Pregnant Woman Alleges Police Brutality: Ear Chopped Off During Interrogation

Judith Yaa Kumah, a 20-year-old pregnant woman, has come forward with allegations of police brutality, claiming that a detective mutilated her ear during an interrogation session. The incident reportedly occurred in connection with a robbery investigation in Tema Community 8.

Yaa Kumah, visibly distraught, recounted her harrowing experience to Awisi Dede Djangay of GHONE TV. She identified the alleged perpetrator as Detective Corporal Clement Suputor, accusing him of subjecting her to physical abuse in an attempt to extract a confession.

According to Yaa Kumah’s testimony, the interrogation quickly turned violent, with Detective Suputor allegedly employing aggressive tactics to coerce her into admitting involvement in the robbery. In the process, she claims that he inflicted severe injuries, resulting in the partial loss of her ear.

The young woman’s ordeal highlights the disturbing prevalence of police brutality and abuse of power within law enforcement agencies. It raises serious questions about the methods employed during interrogations and the treatment of suspects, particularly vulnerable individuals like pregnant women.

Yaa Kumah’s case underscores the urgent need for accountability and reform within the police force to ensure the protection of citizens’ rights and prevent further instances of violence and abuse. Her courage in speaking out against injustice serves as a reminder of the importance of advocating for transparency and accountability in law enforcement practices.

As investigations into the alleged incident unfold, the public awaits answers and justice for Judith Yaa Kumah, whose traumatic experience has shed light on the dark reality of police brutality in Ghana.
