Afenyo-Markin sworn-in as new ECG Board Chair; promises to address challenges

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the new Board Chair of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has emphasized the need to address the challenges facing the power distributor.

He made this comment after his formal inauguration by the outgoing Energy Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, following his appointment by President Akufo-Addo.

Afenyo-Markin acknowledged the significant improvements made by the government in electricity provision but stressed that more work needs to be done.

He expressed his commitment to continuing the trajectory of thoughtful reform and innovation to address the challenges confronting ECG.

As the newly inaugurated Board Chair, Afenyo-Markin is poised to lead the ECG in tackling the challenges facing the power distributor.
