Akwasi Agyemang, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, and Kofi Agyepong, CEO of the Youth Employment Agency, recently embarked on a visit to various businesses along Labadi Beach that have benefited from the YEA’s Business & Employment Assistance Programme (BEAP).

The purpose of the visit was to assess the impact of the initiative on the tourism and hospitality sector, and to engage with entrepreneurs who have received support.

During the visit, the YEA CEO expressed his delight in seeing the positive impact of the initiative, stating that it was fulfilling to witness the relief and joy on the faces of entrepreneurs who have received support.

He noted that the BEAP programme has lifted a significant financial burden off the shoulders of entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary resources to grow and expand their businesses.

The BEAP programme provides monthly salary support to employees of various enterprises, including bars, shops, and food joints, enabling entrepreneurs to retain staff and maintain operations despite financial challenges.

Mr. Agyepong emphasized the YEA’s commitment to expanding the programme to include more sectors of the economy, ensuring that even more youth find meaningful employment and entrepreneurs receive the support they need to thrive.

He praised BEAP as a game-changer, highlighting its potential to make a significant difference in the lives of young people and entrepreneurs.

The programme’s success, he noted, is a testament to the power of collaboration and support, and demonstrates the impact that can be achieved when organizations work together to address the needs of the community.
