Interior Minister Henry Quartey has emphasized the importance of maintaining the new housing facility for police officers, urging them to keep the premises clean and well-maintained at all times.

During the handover ceremony in Accra, Minister Quartey stressed that the officers will be held accountable for ensuring the facility remains in good condition, reflecting the government’s investment in their welfare.

He specifically mentioned the need to avoid cluttering the surroundings with personal items, such as clothes, fridges, freezers, and bicycles, which is a common sight in police barracks. Minister Quartey tasked the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to enforce this directive and maintain the facility’s integrity, ensuring that the officers take pride in their living quarters.

The newly commissioned housing units, comprising 320 apartments, are part of the Security Services Housing Project Phase Three. The project includes amenities such as an officers’ mess, social center, playing courts, and a kindergarten, aiming to positively impact the lives of police officers and their families.

This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the security services and providing better living conditions for those who serve and protect the nation.

By providing decent housing, the government aims to boost the morale and productivity of police officers, enabling them to effectively serve and protect the community.

The Minister’s emphasis on maintenance and upkeep underscores the importance of responsibility and pride in one’s living space, setting a high standard for the officers and their families.
