The senior national team of Ghana, nicknamed the “Black Stars” has officially booked a place in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast.

The achievement was made official after Ghana’s slim 2:1 win over Central Africa Republic on the final day of qualifies in Kumasi.

It was the away team that struck first through Mafouta in the 25th minute after going round goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Ghana responded through West Ham’s Kudus Mohammed who scored from a free kick spot in the 43rd minute following a foul on Osman Bukari just around the edge of the penalty box.
