Ashantigold SC case with the Ghana Football Football (GFA), which is before Accra Human Rights Court has being postponed again. Ashantigold’s SC is in court over match-fixing scandal, of which the Disciplines Committee of GFA handcuffed them alongside Inter Allies FC in a game ending 7-0 at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium in the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season.
The court scheduled Tuesday, July 18th to deliver ruling but has now rescheduled. Next month, August 21st 2023 is the new date for the decision to be heard.
Ashantigold wants their demotion to Division Two League by the GFA Disciplinary Committee reversed and pave way for their return to elite football.
After exhausting all avenues within the GFA, Ashantigold have turned to the Human Rights Court in the hope of overturning their demotion and securing a fair hearing from Ghana’s football governing body.
Meanwhile, the former Ghanaian champions have been suspended from all activities at the recent GFA Ordinary Congress after dealing with their Chairman Dr Kwaku Frimpong, who is serving a long-term ban due to match-fixing.
In October 2022, the court dismissed Ashantigold’s interlocutory injunction on the Ghana Premier League.
