Coach Yaw Preko opens up on rumors linking him to Hearts of Oak SC coaching job

Former Ghana international, Yaw Preko has been linked to Accra Hearts of Oak SC coaching role as an assistant manager for the past weeks. However, the ex-Hearts of Oak SC player has debunked reports linking him to the outfit.

Yaw Preko is currently unattached after receiving the sack from Ghana Premier League side Accra Great Olympics FC following disrespect to management over player selection. He was relieved off his head coach role in the course of the 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League for Bismark Kobby-Mensah.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, the gaffer insisted no contact has being made between him and the Capital-based outfit but disclosed that he will not hesitate to grab the opportunity should they approach him for his services.

“I haven’t heard anything like that, no one has contacted me over a job at Hearts of Oak”

“Is not true am going to Hearts as an assistant coach, no one has engaged me”, he disclosed.

“Our job, is to coach so if anyone comes and negotiate with you and it’s satisfactory and you believe you can deliver then you accept but if you can’t deliver you just let it go”.

Hearts of Oak SC are currently in search for a head coach after losing Serbian trainer Slavko Matic mid-season. They offered the opportunity to David Ocloo, the assistant manager to handle the side till season ends.

The Continental Club Masters due to inconsistency brought their 2022-23 BetPawa Premier League campaign to 12th position on the log, and nearly suffered relegation provided they lost their last fixture against Berekum Chelsea FC but were saved with a goalless draw.
