Fijai United Soccer Academy’s standout goalkeeper, Robert Nyadedzor, has secured a final selection into Ghana’s National Beach Soccer team, the Black Sharks. The talented shot-stopper is among the three goalkeepers set to face the Ivory Coast national team in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.
Nyadedzor, who also serves as the captain of Fijai United Soccer Academy, has been pivotal in his team’s success. He was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in two crucial games during the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup.
His leadership and skill were on full display during the round of 32 match against Soccer Intellectual’s FC from the Central Region and the round of 64 match against Nzema Kotoko FC, where Fijai United triumphed 2-1 at St. Martin’s Park in Daboase.
Known for his exceptional penalty saves and free-kick prowess, Nyadedzor’s selection to the Black Sharks is a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Jacob Wemegah, a key figure at Fijai United Soccer Academy, praised Nyadedzor’s achievement, highlighting the impact of the PPEP initiative from Arizona State, which has significantly benefited the academy’s players over the years.
Wemegah expressed his hopes for the future, saying, “I am optimistic that in a few years, our players will dominate national teams and make a significant impact in Ghana. My greatest ambition is to see these kids grow into responsible men who will be useful to society, the nation, and the world at large.”
As Nyadedzor prepares to represent Ghana on the international stage, the entire Fijai United Soccer Academy community is filled with pride and anticipation for what the future holds for their talented captain.
