Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew has conceded that his father did massive when it comes to his football career of which he intends to do his but not equal his father’s legacy.
The Crystal Palace attacker is the son of Ghana legend Abedi Ayew Pele. His achievement to the National team is immense and can’t be overlooked, winning the Africa Cup of Nations, the Champions League, and also the African Footballer of the Year on three occasions, solidifying his legendary status.
Nevertheless, his son Jordan intends to make his own mark but not match his father’s legacy.
Jordan, 31, has over 100 career goals and is the leading Ghanaian goal-scorer in Premier League history.
Speaking about the pressure of living up to his father’s legacy, the Crystal Palace ace expressed his realistic outlook.
“I don’t come under pressure at all. My dad has done his part and he did it very well, so it’s impossible to get to even get that level. I always say it, and I am open,” Ayew said on GTV Sports+.
“What I can do is to make a name for myself and try and be as good as I can and represent the family as good as possible,” he affirmed.
He has over 90 caps for Ghana and has scored 19 goals since making his debut in 2010.
