Election 2024: I’m excited we picked No. 8 – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has embarked on a campaign tour of the Ahafo Region, where he urged supporters in strongholds of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reconsider their political allegiance and support the NDC in the upcoming elections.

During his tour, Mahama assured the gathering that the NDC is committed to delivering development projects that benefit all Ghanaians, irrespective of their party affiliations.

He referenced the NDC’s impressive achievements in infrastructure development, such as the construction of colleges of education in 2015, as tangible examples of the party’s dedication to national development.

Mahama further emphasized the NDC’s plans to address pressing challenges facing the nation, including unemployment and the rising cost of living.

He urged voters to prioritize progress over party loyalty in the upcoming elections, stressing that development should be the ultimate goal.

“Everyone wants development, and the NDC is the only party that delivers it,” Mahama noted. “We provide development equally and don’t discriminate based on who votes for us. If that wasn’t the case, you wouldn’t have seen the colleges of education we built here in 2015.”

Mahama also appealed to the younger generation to look beyond historical family affiliations and vote based on their current needs. “Your grandparents, who were affiliated with the other party, are dead and gone,” he said. “You are the ones who are suffering now due to their hardships.

So please let’s not vote because of family historical affiliation but rather for a party and someone like me, who will bring progress to our lives.”

By urging voters to prioritize development over party loyalty, Mahama’s message resonated with many, particularly those who feel marginalized and neglected by the current government. The NDC flagbearer’s campaign strategy focuses on showcasing his party’s track record and plans for progress, aiming to win over undecided voters and those disillusioned with the incumbent government.

As Mahama continues his campaign tour, his message of development and inclusivity is expected to resonate with Ghanaians eager for positive change.

With the elections approaching, the NDC’s commitment to delivering development projects and addressing pressing challenges will likely remain a central theme in Mahama’s campaign.
