RTU Fined GHC 100,000 and Key Officials Banned for Using Unregistered Players

Real Tamale United (RTU) has been slapped with a hefty fine of GHC 100,000 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for fielding unregistered players in their 2023/24 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match against Dreams Football Club.

The GFA’s disciplinary committee found RTU guilty of violating league regulations by using players who were not properly registered for the season. As a result, the club has been fined and several key officials have been handed one-year bans from all football-related activities.

The banned officials include:

Assistant Coach: Iddi Manza
Team Doctor: Abdul Somed
Team Manager: Alhaji Tanko Jetuma
Operations Manager: Alhaji Yakeen

This sanction is a significant setback for RTU, affecting the team’s operations and strategy as they navigate the remainder of the season. The GFA’s decision underscores its commitment to enforcing regulations and maintaining the integrity of the league.

RTU has not yet released an official statement regarding the fine and the bans imposed on their officials. The football community awaits their response and the steps they will take to address these serious breaches.
