As Takoradi Technical University (TTU) gears up for its 70th-anniversary celebration, the institution has officially launched a distinctive logo that encapsulates seven decades of commitment, growth, and resilience.

Designed by TTU alumnus Prince Asamoah Williams, the logo symbolizes the triumphs, evolution, and aspirations of the university.

The logo, unveiled in a symbolic ceremony, features elements such as a cogwheel, a golden evolving laurel wreath, a multi-colored extension of the “7,” and an insert of the TTU original logo.

Each component tells a story of evolution, innovation, collaboration, societal relevance, and team spirit that have been the bedrock of the institution’s achievements.

The Vice-Chancellor of TTU, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, emphasized that the logo represents the essence of the university’s past, present, and future.

He commended the unity of purpose that has enabled TTU to embody the logo’s vibrant colors and dynamic design, blending tradition with innovation.

“As we celebrate this momentous occasion, let’s reflect on the journey that has led us here—our triumphs, hurdles, and the invaluable contribution to our growth as a successful institution in technical education,” Prof. Eshun remarked during the unveiling.

The logo serves as a symbol of unity and collaboration, reminding the TTU community that they are part of a larger community where every individual’s efforts contribute to the university’s overall growth.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah highlighted the collective spirit reflected in the logo, urging the TTU community to carry the essence of the 70-year journey in their hearts to manifest societal relevance and achievements.

The 70th anniversary logo is designed not only to celebrate the past but also to promote the visibility of TTU, consolidate gains as the premier Technical University in Ghana, engage and enhance collaborations and partnerships, and inspire the future.

The Registrar of TTU, Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory, emphasized the significance of a good logo, stating that it gives a first impression and sets an institution apart from its peers.

The unveiling of the 70th-anniversary emblem marks the beginning of the celebration of TTU’s 70 years of success.

President of the TTU Alumni, Dr. Bruce Amartey, expressed excitement about being part of the TTU success story, acknowledging the institution’s role in shaping and transforming the lives of its alumni.

The 70th-anniversary celebration is set to officially launch on December 15, 2023. As TTU embraces this significant milestone, the logo stands as a visual representation of the institution’s rich history, vibrant present, and promising future.
