Mercy Araba Ahema Quarshie, the sister of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, has publicly condemned the actions of Koku Anyidoho, the former deputy general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), regarding her brother’s grave.
At the 12th-anniversary memorial service held at Asomdwee Park, Ms Quarshie expressed her disapproval of Mr Anyidoho’s behavior, citing two specific incidents.
Firstly, she criticized Mr Anyidoho for exceeding his allotted time during the second memorial service, causing a delay and disrupting the proceedings.
Secondly, she accused him of interfering with her brother’s grave without the family’s permission, which she deemed unacceptable.
Furthermore, Ms Quarshie recalled a previous incident where the family had accused Mr Anyidoho of transporting individuals to pose as the late President’s family members during a wreath-laying service, further highlighting her distrust and disapproval of his actions.
Her statements underscore the family’s desire to protect the legacy and memory of their loved one from perceived disrespect and exploitation.
Mercy Araba Ahema Quarshie, the sister of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, has vowed to hold Koku Anyidoho accountable for his actions, which she considers a blatant disrespect to her family.
She alleged that Mr. Anyidoho has been presenting impostors as the true relatives of Atta Mills, claiming they are the genuine family members while labeling the actual relatives as paternal brothers and sisters.
Ms. Quarshie expressed her outrage and disgust at the sight of an 80-year-old woman, who was part of Mr. Anyidoho’s group, pouring libation and claiming to be Atta Mills’ mother.
She found this act to be particularly offensive, as it was clear that the woman was not telling the truth.
Furthermore, Ms. Quarshie emphasized that Mr. Anyidoho’s interference with her brother’s grave without the family’s knowledge or consent is a serious taboo in their family.
She made it clear that his actions will not go unpunished and that the family will take necessary steps to address this egregious behavior.
