U-23 AFCON: Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan blast attitude of some Black Meteors players after exit

The former Black Stars striker has expressed his displeasure over the attitude of some Black Meteors players in the course of their qualifying from the Group stage of CAF U-23 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Following poor output against Guinea on Friday night at the Stade de Tanger, Ghana bid farewell to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Meteors shamefully exited the competition following a 1-1 draw to Guinea on Friday night despite taking the lead in the first half.

Black Meteors through Emmanuel Yeboah broke the deadlock with a half chance, however, failed to protect their goal, having their 1-0 lead cancelled in the 60th minute.

Following Ghana’s inability to beat Morocco and losing 5-1, he was expected to humble Guinea for qualification, having beaten Congo Brazzaville 3-2, but hell no, could not.

Asamoah Gyan, who is Ghana’s all-time topscorer with 51 goals, is upset about some Black Meteors players. Disclosing that, some players believe they are bigger than the team and do not give their best.

“What I saw in this Black meteors team is some players think they are bigger than the whole team. Small hype and fame ? SHM. Modern football is not about only what you do with the ball.

The Black Meteors last competed in the Olympic Games in 2004 when it was held in Athens. With four points, got eliminated from the tournament and paved way for Morocco and Guinea to advance to the semi-finals.
