Head coach of Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko has admitted that their performance at the CAF U-23 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco was below standard asuch, why they failed to secure semi-finals spot.
Expectations where high prior to the tournament kicks off with the aim of booking qualifications to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Ghana since 2004 has yet to appear at the Olympics and was with high hopes of securing qualifications until Friday night.
Ghana got eliminated from the ongoing Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in Morocco after playing out a stalemate with Guinea last Friday night.
The Meteors managed to accumulate four points from three matches and lost the second spot in Group A to Guinea due to goal difference.

“We have disappointed Ghanaians and ourselves, but we give thanks to God in every situation, and like I said, we will analyze and know what didn’t go well,” He said after the game.
