The decision comes after 17 matches in the Ghana Premier League, where Great Olympics secured 5 wins, 6 draws, and suffered 6 losses, placing them at the 12th position with 21 points.

The club released a press statement on the 18th of January 2024, confirming the mutual termination and revealing that Assistant Coach Jimmy Corbblah will temporarily take charge of the team.

The move aims to provide stability while the club actively seeks a new technical direction within the shortest possible time.

Emmanuel “Saint” Osei, the club’s PRO, signed the statement expressing best wishes to Coach Daniel Annor Walker in his future endeavors.

The announcement marks a significant development in the club’s strategy as they navigate the Ghana Premier League and strive for improved performance in the remaining matches of the season.

The decision for a mutual termination suggests a thoughtful and amicable separation between the club and Coach Annor Walker, allowing both parties to explore new opportunities.

As Assistant Coach Jimmy Corbblah steps into a temporary leadership role, the focus shifts to the club’s pursuit of a fresh technical direction that aligns with their aspirations in the league.

Accra Great Olympics, a club with a storied history, now faces the challenge of charting a course forward under new coaching leadership.

The upcoming weeks will be crucial as the club evaluates potential candidates to guide them through the remainder of the Ghana Premier League season.

The story unfolds against the backdrop of football’s inherent dynamics, where managerial changes are part of the sport’s evolution.

Great Olympics and their loyal fans now await the appointment of a new coach, hoping for renewed vigor and success in the matches ahead.
