As Ghanaian football embarks on a new era under the stewardship of head coach Otto Addo, anticipation runs high as a fresh squad is unveiled for the upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.

In a bold move, Addo has named a 26-man squad that includes a mix of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers, signaling his commitment to revitalizing the national team.

Among the standout inclusions are David Akologo from Bolivia, Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland, Nathaniel Adjei from France, and Diomande Mohammed from Rangers of Scotland.

These players, along with Asante Kotoko’s Frederick Asare, have earned their debut call-ups on the back of stellar performances for their respective clubs.

The friendlies, set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, serve as the perfect opportunity for Addo to assess his squad and lay the groundwork for the challenges ahead.

With the return of Brighton and Hove Albion right back Tariq Lamptey from injury, as well as the inclusion of familiar faces like Patrick Kpozo, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Edmund Addo, the squad boasts a formidable blend of talent and experience.

Leading the charge are stalwarts such as captain Andre Ayew, forward Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Osman Bukari, Samed Abdul Samed, and Elisha Owusu, whose presence provides a sense of continuity and leadership amidst the influx of new faces.

The clash against Nigeria on Friday, March 22, followed by the encounter with Uganda four days later, promises to be a thrilling test for Addo’s rejuvenated squad.

As Ghana prepares to write the opening chapter of a new era in its footballing journey, fans eagerly anticipate the emergence of fresh talent and the resurgence of the Black Stars on the international stage.

With Otto Addo at the helm, the future looks bright for Ghanaian football, and these friendlies mark the first step towards reclaiming its status as a powerhouse in African football.
