The Ghana Police Service has arrested three individuals in connection with the violent disturbances that occurred during the Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC at the Nana Koronamansah Park in Nsoatre, Bono Region. The clashes tragically led to the death of a Kotoko supporter.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Agyemang Duah Owusu, and Kyeremeh Joseph. They are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

During a search of Agyemang Duah Owusu’s residence, law enforcement officials discovered two dresses with suspected bloodstains and an MP 23 pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has personally reached out to the bereaved family and the leadership of Kumasi Asante Kotoko to extend the Police Service’s condolences. He assured them of a thorough and impartial investigation to bring justice to the victim and hold the perpetrators accountable.
