Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has announced a significant reshuffling in its technical hierarchy, reassigning Head Coach Aboubakar Ouattara to a new role as Special Advisor to the Board of Directors.
In an official club statement released on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, the Board confirmed that Ouattara will no longer serve as the head of the senior team’s technical bench. Instead, he will now work closely with the club’s leadership on strategic assignments and special duties.
“As a Special Advisor, Aboubakar Ouattara will be working directly with the Board of Directors on special assignments and duties,” the statement read. “The Board conveys its congratulations to Aboubakar Ouattara in his new role and looks forward to a good collaboration to move the club to new heights.”
The club praised the outgoing coach for his professionalism, dedication, and tactical innovation during his tenure.
“We take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the professionalism and innovation Aboubakar Ouattara brought to the senior team during his term as Head Coach,” the statement added.
Ouattara’s reassignment comes days after the club announced the appointment of former Black Stars assistant coach Mas-Ud Dramani as the new head coach—a decision that sparked mixed reactions among the club’s passionate fan base.
While Hearts of Oak did not specify the reasons behind the reassignment, the move appears to be part of a broader restructuring aimed at revamping the club’s technical and strategic direction ahead of the new season.
Supporters and analysts alike will now watch closely to see how this change will affect the club’s performance on and off the pitch as they prepare for domestic and continental competitions.
