Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of Ghanaian left-back Umar Ali on a two-year contract as the Porcupine Warriors continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The 22-year-old defender joins Kotoko from UAE Pro League side Banyias, where he enjoyed a productive 2024/25 campaign.
Ali made 21 league appearances for Banyias last season and registered four assists, highlighting his ability to contribute both defensively and in attack.
His arrival is expected to provide increased competition and depth at left-back as Asante Kotoko prepare for the demands of the upcoming campaign.
The Ghanaian defender now returns to the domestic scene with the opportunity to establish himself at one of the country’s biggest clubs and contribute to Kotoko’s ambitions on both the domestic and continental fronts.
The two-year agreement keeps Ali at the club until 2028, subject to the terms of his contract.
