Two prominent political movements, the Movement for Change (M4C) and the National Interest Movement (NIM), have joined forces with various political entities and individuals to form the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC). Led by Hon. Alan Kyerematen, founder of M4C, and Dr. Michael Abu Sakara Foster, leader of NIM, this alliance aims to challenge the traditional duopoly of Ghanaian politics and usher in a new era of governance focused on unity, inclusivity, and economic transformation.
The announcement, made on April 4th, 2024, signals a seismic shift in the political landscape of Ghana. With a shared vision of breaking the cycle of poverty and addressing the fundamental challenges of development, ARC vows to mobilize Ghanaians from all walks of life, irrespective of religious, political, or ethnic affiliations.
The alliance seeks to rally support from the youth and women, recognizing their pivotal role in shaping the future of the nation.
At the core of ARC’s agenda is the establishment of an all-inclusive Government of National Unity, comprising representatives from various sectors including political parties, the business community, farmers, labor unions, faith-based organizations, traditional authorities, civil society organizations, academia, media, and other stakeholder interest groups.
This collaborative approach aims to foster consensus-building and ensure continuity in governance beyond partisan lines.
Furthermore, ARC pledges to advocate for fundamental constitutional reforms, addressing issues such as governance, public sector accountability, management of natural resources, and mindset and attitudinal change.
By transcending party manifestos and prioritizing a national development plan, the alliance envisions a blueprint for Ghana’s economic transformation that reflects the aspirations and needs of its citizens.
The launch of ARC on April 17th, 2024, is poised to mark a historic moment in Ghanaian politics. As the alliance embarks on its journey towards the 2024 elections, it carries with it the hopes and aspirations of millions of Ghanaians who yearn for a brighter future.
With a united front and a commitment to putting the interests of the nation first, ARC embodies the spirit of change and renewal, signaling a new dawn for Ghanaian democracy.
As Hon. Alan Kyerematen aptly states, “Ghana Will Rise Again.” With ARC leading the charge, the promise of a stronger, more prosperous Ghana lies on the horizon, ready to be realized through unity, collaboration, and visionary leadership.
