Accra Hearts of Oak, one of Ghana’s premier football clubs, showcased remarkable progress in infrastructure development during its 6th Annual General Meeting (AGM). Led by Board Chairman Togbe Afede XIV, the club revealed ambitious projects aimed at enhancing its facilities and operations.
The highlight of the AGM was the update on the Hearts Africa Sports Academy, which is currently undergoing its first phase of construction. Togbe Afede XIV proudly announced that the project is nearing completion, with approximately 80% of the work done.
This phase includes executive apartments, dormitories, administrative and classroom blocks, kitchen and dining facilities, gymnasiums, laundry areas, and changing rooms.
Additionally, the academy boasts four football pitches and courts for tennis, basketball, and volleyball. With an investment of over GH 22 million, the academy promises to provide top-notch facilities for nurturing young talent.
Furthermore, Togbe Afede XIV revealed plans for a modern headquarters building to replace the club’s old secretariat, affectionately known as “Phobia House.” The demolition of Phobia House in May 2022 marked the beginning of this ambitious project, which is now 95% complete.
With approximately GH 9 million invested so far, the ultra-modern headquarters will not only serve as a central hub for the club’s operations but also generate revenue through leasing out parts of the building.
The unveiling of these infrastructure developments underscores Accra Hearts of Oak’s commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
By investing in state-of-the-art facilities, the club aims to elevate its stature in Ghanaian football while providing opportunities for youth development and community engagement.
As the AGM concluded, members and stakeholders expressed their excitement and support for the club’s vision.
Accra Hearts of Oak emerges from the meeting with renewed optimism and determination to continue its legacy of success, both as a football powerhouse and a pillar of progress in the Ghanaian sporting landscape.
