Yaw Amankwah Mireku, a former Accra Hearts of Oak SC player and a member of the CAF Champions League winning team in 2002 has fired the current board of the club to be very weary of their utterances to the fan base, since they have not achieve nothing better.
According to the club legend, the board which won the Phobians CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup in the early 2000’s secured massive achievement and current board of Togbe Afede XIV, Alhaji Brimah Moro Akambi and Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei are just not close to them.
Hearts of Oak legend, Yaw Amankwah Mireku says Alhaji Brimah Moro Akambi and Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei can not be drawn closer to the board that Hearts of Oak SC board.
Hearts fans have been pushing for the dismissal of the duo from the board as they believe they are the reason for the downfall of the Continental Club Masters in recent years.
Majority Shareholder of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has once said Alhaji Akambi and Honourable Vincent Sowah Odotei are competent and responsible men who are doing exceptionally for the club.
Speaking in an interview with Kobby Stonne on Adom FM’s AgoroNie AgoroNie, Amankwah Mireku however believes the fans have genuine reasons why the two board members should be dismissed by Togbe Afede XIV.
“For our father (Togbe Afede XIV) to say at a press conference that supporters don’t know how reliable Alhaji Akambi and Honourable Vincent Sowah Odotei are, it’s unfortunate”
“Does that mean the supporters don’t know what they are saying?” He questioned.
According to him, the fact that Hearts won the league title and and 2 FA Cups in a space of two seasons does not mean the two board members should be there forever.
He adds that even the leaders who were at the helm of affairs when Hearts won continental titles are no more on the board.
“Harry Zakour, Nii Ayi Bonte, Ernest Thompson, Hashford Tetteh Oku and the likes of T.T Brothers won the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup and the Super Cup. Where are they now?
You (Alhaji Akambi and Honourable Vincent Sowah Odotei) have just won the league and 2 FA Cups. Are you important than those who won the continental trophies? ” He added.
