In a commendable display of community leadership, the Assemblyman for Ngyiresia-Mempeasem Electoral Area, Hon Gabriel Ato Mensah, affectionately known as Sir Gabby, has taken swift action to address a longstanding safety concern in the neighborhood.
Today, on the 28th of February 2024, Sir Gabby secured a new electric pole from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to replace a deteriorated and hazardous pole near Ngyiresia Pipe Ano, close to Sister Dampah’s area.
The move comes after years of the old pole posing a significant risk to residents, earning it the unfortunate reputation of being a potential death trap. The proactive response by Sir Gabby highlights his commitment to the well-being and safety of the community members.
Having inspected the hazardous pole just last week, the Assemblyman wasted no time in liaising with the Electricity Company of Ghana to secure a replacement. The new pole is expected to be installed promptly, with ECG staff working diligently to complete the electrical works before the week’s end.
The swift resolution of this safety concern is met with relief and appreciation from the residents of Ngyiresia-Mempeasem. Sir Gabby’s initiative not only addresses a pressing issue but also underscores the importance of responsive and proactive community leadership.
As news of the replacement spreads throughout the community, there is a palpable sense of gratitude and optimism. The impending removal of the deteriorated pole not only eliminates a potential danger but also signifies the positive impact that engaged and attentive local representatives can have on the safety and well-being of their constituents.
The story of Sir Gabby’s intervention serves as an inspiring testament to the transformative potential of community-focused leadership, reminding residents that their concerns are heard and acted upon.
