CAF Women’s Olympics Qualifiers: Black Queens secure qualification to next stage with triumph over Guinea

The Black Queens of Ghana, have advanced to the next round of CAF Women’s Olympics qualifiers with a 7-0 aggregate win over their counterparts Guinea.

On Tuesday, July 18 2023 at the Accra Sports Stadium, coach Nora Häuptle side recorded an enviable 4-0 victory over Guinea to secure qualification to next stage with Evelyn Badu, Fidous Yakubu and Princella Adubea getting on the scoresheet.

Forward, Evelyn Badu registered a brace after scoring in each half of the encounter. He opened the scores for the Black Queens after 36′ minutes of action. Her solo goal was able to guide the host to first half break as leaders before Princella Adubea doubled Ghana’s lead with a beautiful strike seven minutes into the second department.

Despite, the Guineans mounting series of pressure to reduce the deficit could not match the strength and pace of Portia Boakye and Janet Egyir at the backline.

A minute to the hour mark, Evelyn Badu scored her second to increase Ghana’s goal tally to 3-0 before second half substitute Fidous Yakubu got her share with five minutes to full time.
