Few days ago, Manhyia announced the dissolution of Asante Kotoko SC board of Directors which automatically affects the management of the Premiership club. The 12-member Committee was chaired by Dr. Kwame Kyei with Nana Yaw Amponsah as Chief Executive Officer of the club.

A three-year tenure of office, was offered them and upon expiration been relieved of their respective duties.

With the CEO position vacant, many has linked former Ashanti Gold SC Chief Executive Officer Frederick Acheampong to the big position. He’s name has come up strongly for the Kotoko job following the dissolution.

Just before Nana Yaw Amponsah was handed the Kotoko top job in 2020, Fred Acheampong, popularly known as Fred Achee, went on radio to describe the Kotoko job as one of the biggest in the world.

In July 2020 during an interview with Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, Achee described the Kotoko CEO job as one of the biggest football positions in the world and obviously looking forward to grabbing it.
