In the wake of Chris Hughton’s departure as the head coach of the Black Stars, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has unveiled its roadmap to secure a new leader for the national team.
An intricately selected five-member search committee, headed by Vice President Mark Addo, has been tasked with evaluating and recommending a candidate to the Executive Council for approval.
The search committee, comprising legal luminary Ace Ankomah (Esq.), Director of Coaching Education Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, Ghana football legend Opoku Nti, and Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports William Caesar Kartey, has a three-week mandate to identify the next Black Stars coach.

Among these criteria are a proven winning record in coaching top men’s national teams or clubs, alignment with or complementation of Ghana’s football philosophy, possession of the highest football license with over 15 years of coaching experience, a track record in team reconstruction and talent development, and demonstrated discipline, tactical acumen, and leadership skills.
