Ghana’s first deaf lawyer in Ghana is one of the 700 new lawyers called to the bar. JUVENTUS DUORINAAH.
University of Ghana alumnus, JUVENTUS DUORINAAH is recognized in history as Ghana’s first lawyer with hearing impairment. Duorinaah was raised in Wa, in the Upper West Region of Ghana.
He finished his schooling at the Senior High Technical School for the Deaf (SHTSD) after starting his basic education at the Wa School for the Deaf in 2007.
Mr. Duorinaah attended the University of Ghana to study sociology and political science, where he earned a first-class honors degree.
He continued on to study for a Master of Laws at Cardiff University’s School of Law and Politics, concentrating on Human Rights.
He studied for an LLB at the University of Ghana after returning to his native country, where he was awarded second class lower honors.
He was accepted at the Ghana School of Law after passing the admission tests. Mr. Duprinaah was called to the bar following six years of law education, demonstrating dedication, hard work, and tenacity.
This noteworthy achievement is a turning point for the deaf community since Duorimnaah’s knowledge will enable him to fully comprehend and support the rights of the deaf people.
