Renowned music producer and sound engineer, Possigee, in an interview with ace blogger, Kobby Kyei in 2020, disclosed that, Sarkodie is on a project with someone who’s bigger than Jay Z.
Sarkodie in the same year made a subtle post where he posted a picture of Bob Marley with a crown and a sign of prayer as a caption.
With all this, it safe to say many didn’t have the clue.
News broke out on January 18, that, the multi award winning rapper is featured on the remix of Bob Marley’s 1973 record, ‘Stir It Up’ with ‘The Wailers’.
A tweet from Marley’s official Twitter page and that of Sarkodie’s confirmed the news.
Subsequently, the record of Bob Marley, Sarkodie and The Wailers was released on Friday, January 20.
Speaking to Sideman on the +44 podcast in the UK aired on Amazon Music, the ‘Country Side’ hitmaker stretched on the 13th minute mark on how he felt he wasn’t worthy to be on the record.
“When we had the email, I almost passed it on, not just out of respect, I felt I wasn’t worthy to lay my vocals next to the legend. I was so hard on myself and my manager told me to grab the opportunity but I was looking at the art side of it and not the opportunity “, he said.
