In December 23, 2022, Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, updated the playlists of his fans and his own catalogue by releasing another single titled “Ofon Na Edi Asem Fo”, meaning “fool spew gibberish”.
The lyrics of the song contained some subtle attack which many pondered about the “fool” he was referring to.
On the back of this, Gospel musician, Isaiah Kwadwo Kwakye popularly known as Great Ampong, in an interview at Happy FM averred the song was directed at him and further elaborated why he think so and how expectant he was for it.
Again, Great Ampong explained that someone from the highlife icon’s camp told him the said diss track was being recorded for him in 2018.
But a new video has gone viral where Daddy Lumba in an interview with Nana Adjoa Silky on “DL FM” denied there was anyone in particular he directed the song at. Rather, he made it for anyone who’s out there and speaks “rubbish” about others. This came after a fan called and made a claim that he thinks Daddy Lumba targeted someone specifically.
Many thought the interview was also a reply to Great Ampong on what he said at Happy FM on January 20, 2023.
But according to Nana Adjoa Silky, her interview with Daddy Lumba was granted on December 23, 2022, when the song in question was released. She explained that the interview was part of the premiering after Entertainment journalist, Kwame Dadzie had sought after her to make clarifications on when the interview was granted because he knew Nana Adjoa Silky started working at DL FM on Monday, January 23,2023.
This apparently shows Daddy Lumba wasn’t explaining himself to Great Ampong as many thought. But as to whether it’s a diss song or not, Great Ampong says he already a reply for him.
