The people of Amanful West in the Takoradi-Amanful Traditional Area can now access clean drinking water following the commissioning of a mechanized borehole by their divisional chief, Nana Obo Atta Essoun III.
The project, inaugurated today, is set to benefit over 2,000 residents who have long relied on streams for water, often facing challenges with quality and accessibility.
For years, the lack of potable water has been a major concern for the community, forcing residents to depend on untreated stream water for daily use.
Recognizing the urgent need for a sustainable solution, Nana Obo Atta Essoun III spearheaded this initiative to provide safe and reliable water to his people. The borehole, which bears his name, is expected to improve health conditions and enhance the overall well-being of community members.
“This project is a testament to our commitment to improving the lives of our people. Access to clean water is a basic necessity, and we will continue to work towards ensuring that every household benefits from such initiatives,” Nana Obo Atta Essoun III stated during the commissioning ceremony.
Beyond Amanful West, plans are already in motion to extend similar projects to neighboring communities grappling with water shortages. This move underscores the chief’s dedication to sustainable development and his vision for better living conditions in the area.
Residents have expressed their gratitude, praising the chief’s leadership and efforts in addressing one of their most pressing needs. As the borehole begins operation, many are hopeful that this marks the beginning of a broader transformation that will bring lasting benefits to the region.
