The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially appointed its National Campaign Team for the upcoming 2024 general elections. The announcement came after extensive consultations and deliberations during a meeting held by the Functional Executive Committee on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. This team will spearhead the party’s efforts in both the presidential and parliamentary campaigns.
The National Campaign Team is led by Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, who serves as the Campaign Coordinator. Dr. Joseph Yammin has been appointed as the Deputy Campaign Coordinator in charge of regional campaigns, while Richard Quashiga will oversee parliamentary campaigns. Chief Hamilton Nixon Biney takes on the role of Deputy Campaign Coordinator for Special Operations.
The team also includes key national officers such as Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer, and George Opare Addo, the National Youth Organizer. Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei, the National Women’s Organizer, and Alhaji Cole Younger, the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator, are also part of this strategic group.
Prominent figures like Prof. Joshua Alabi and Joyce Bawa Mogtari will head and serve as spokespersons for the flagbearer’s campaign, respectively. The running mate’s campaign will be led by Alex Segbefia, with James Agyenim Boateng and Eric Adjei as the spokesperson and deputy spokesperson.
The National Campaign Team is further strengthened by representatives from various NDC factions, including Richard Anamoo from the Professionals Forum, Shine Gaveh from the Cadres Front, along with members like Dr. Nashiru Issahaku, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, and Mary Ewusi.
Guidance and oversight will be provided by a Campaign Steering Committee, chaired by Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and comprising notable figures such as Dr. Ato Forson, Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho, Alhaji Hudu Yahaya, and Betty Mould Iddrisu, among others.
This coordinated effort will operate under the leadership of the party’s flagbearer, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and will report to both the Functional and National Executive Committees of the NDC.
The NDC’s comprehensive and strategic approach, as reflected in the formation of this robust campaign team, underscores its commitment to securing a victory in the 2024 elections and steering Ghana towards a new direction.
