French club AS Monaco has completed the signing of Ghana defender Salisu Mohammed in the ongoing summer transfer.
The Ghanaian international, 24, has signed up for five-year deal and is now linked with the Monegasque club until June 2028. The center-back sealed his move from Southampton FC on a reported £15million deal.
Salisu trained in Spain, at Real Valladolid, where he made his professional debut in King’s Cup at just 19 years old (2018-19 season), Mohamed Salisu won the following season and had a full season in the Spanish 1st division (34 games, 1 goal and 1 assist).
He discovered the Premier League at the age of 21 in summer of 2020.
Despite his young age, his consistency and level of performance in La Liga opened the doors to the Premier League and more specifically Southampton where he signed a long term contract.
Recognized across the Channel for his athletic qualities and aerial play, the 1.91m central defender has become an important part of the Saints squad over the seasons, with whom he has played a total of 80 games, including 68 in the Premier League.
