Asante Kotoko SC midfielder Richmond Lamptey has revealed that, playing in the Ghanaian top-flight he always struggle to play on alot of pitches. According to the central midfielder, the poor state of the Ghana Premier League pitches is the biggest worry.
His claims comes on the back of many asking the standard of the top-flight to improve including infrastructure.
He disclosed in an interview with Kessben FM that, he feels comfortable playing on the Baba Yara Sports Stadium than the rest of the Premier League venues.
The former WAFA and Inter Allies FC midfielder says, the standard of the league when it comes to infrastructure can not compete with other countries.
“When you compare the Ghana Premier League to other leagues, I will say our pitches are not the best. It’s only Baba Yara and Accra Sports Stadium I can say are okay.
“When I play at Berekum, I don’t feel okay but I am okay playing at the Baba Yara Stadium. I always say that my only concern with the Ghana Premier League is our pitches. I have to be honest with you. It is even difficult to travel with the ball on them”
The 26-year-old has traded in the Ghanaian top-flight since 2015 and has identified this as a challenge.
