Appiah will work alongside Dr. Randy Abbey, who has been named the Chairman of the committee. The new leadership structure is expected to bring fresh perspectives and effective management to the Black Stars, as Ghana aims to strengthen its football operations on the global stage.
Committee Members
The committee is composed of notable figures in Ghana football, including:
Samuel Aboabire: Greater Accra Regional Football Association Chairman
Moses Armah-Parker: Medeama SC President
Dr. Richard Nsenkyire: President of FC Samartex

A New Chapter for Ghana Football
Stephen Appiah’s appointment has been met with widespread approval, given his legendary status in Ghana football and his role in leading the Black Stars to their first-ever FIFA World Cup in 2006.
His vast experience as a player and leader is expected to inspire the team and contribute to the success of the national football program.
Dr. Randy Abbey, an astute administrator and broadcaster, brings extensive experience in football management to the table. His leadership is anticipated to provide strategic direction for the committee.
Expectations
The Management Committee has been tasked with ensuring the Black Stars’ preparations and performance are up to standard, particularly as the team eyes the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Blackstars failed to qualify to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This new leadership structure is expected to enhance the team’s competitiveness and foster greater cohesion among stakeholders.
Appiah’s Commitment
Reacting to his appointment, Stephen Appiah expressed gratitude to the GFA and pledged his commitment to the task ahead. “It’s an honor to serve my country in this capacity. Together, we will work to elevate Ghana football and make the Black Stars a force to reckon with,” he said.
With this new committee in place, Ghanaian football fans are hopeful for a rejuvenated Black Stars team and a return to football glory.
