268 Ghanaian Referees and Assistant Complete Mid-Season Fitness Test and Exam

In a demonstration of commitment to excellence, 268 referees and assistant referees in Ghana have successfully completed the mid-season fitness test and written examination on the Laws of the Game.

The mid-season Referees Course, conducted in Kumasi on February 10, served as a pivotal preparation ahead of the resumption of the Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

The comprehensive mid-season exercise, aligning with FIFA requirements and the 2023/24 Season calendar, showcased the dedication of Ghanaian match officials to maintaining high standards in officiating football matches.

The referees and assistant referees, essential figures in ensuring fair play and the smooth running of football competitions, engaged in rigorous fitness tests and written examinations to hone their skills and knowledge of the game.

The fitness tests, a crucial component of the mid-season Referees Course, assessed the physical readiness of the officials, ensuring they are equipped to keep pace with the dynamic nature of football matches.

Following the fitness exercises, all participants underwent a written examination focused on the Laws of the Game, a vital aspect to enhance their understanding and application of football regulations.

The completion of the mid-season exercise is not only a testament to the dedication of the referees but also a reflection of the collaborative efforts to elevate the standards of football officiating in Ghana.

The Final Report, detailing the outcomes of the fitness tests and examinations, will be forwarded to FIFA and CAF, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the beautiful game.

As the football community eagerly anticipates the resumption of league action, the successful completion of the mid-season Referees Course ensures that the match officials are well-prepared to enforce the rules, maintain order on the field, and contribute to the overall success of the football competitions in Ghana.

The story of these 268 referees is one of continuous learning, dedication, and a shared commitment to ensuring the spirit of fair play prevails on the football pitch.
