The 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards took center stage as Ghana’s finest athletes, coaches, and sports personalities were honored for their remarkable achievements over the past year.
The prestigious event, held in Accra, celebrated the dedication, hard work, and success of individuals and teams who have excelled in their respective fields.

Rose Yeboah Amoanimaa took home the coveted Sports Personality of the Year award, while Mukarama Abdulai and Abdul Azziz Issah were recognized for their remarkable football performances.


In the world of athletics, Ghana’s Athletics Relay Team received the National Team of the Year award for their outstanding performances on the global stage.

Edwin Gadayi was named Athlete of the Year, and Abeiku Jackson once again proved his dominance in swimming by taking home the Swimmer of the Year title.

Bright Kankam Boadu, a well-known sports journalist, was recognized for his excellence in media coverage and analysis, earning the Sports Journalist of the Year award.

Coach James Kwesi Appiah, a respected figure in Ghanaian football, was honored with the SWAG President Award for his long-standing contributions to sports development in the country.
